About the role 

This role encompasses duties across a variety of areas within the hotel, including (but not limited to): Event Management, Administration and hands on event skills

  • Have a well-rounded and proven skill set with a sales background ideally from hospitality, catering or events.
  • Securing business from all segment sources for our hotel.
  • Maintain existing customer base to ensure their business is retained.
  • Maintain effective communication with wider Sales functions in the Region providing market intelligence on a regular basis and understanding of market strengths, weaknesses and ongoing sales activities.
  • Have smarts and be on the ball.
  •  Be proficient in both written and verbal communication and have the attention to detail.
  •  Show initiative.
  •  Be organized, on-to-it and self-motivated.
  •  Have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  •  Have the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  •  Be able to relate to various backgrounds and cultures.
  •  Have a ‘can do’ attitude and not take yourself too seriously.

Skills & experience 

  • At least 2 years of event sales experience in similar role.
  • Banqueting experience with in depth knowledge of running an event.
  • Applicants for this position should have NZ citizenship/residency or a valid NZ work permit.
