About the role

We are looking for a full-time member to join our Finance team, providing support for the day-to-day operations across two luxe hotels within the Independent Collection in Sydney. The responsibilities of this role include managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Processing, Bank Reconciliations, Cashiering, and assisting with internal control processes and month-end procedures. 

We are seeking an individual who possesses a passion for hotel finance and accounting, someone who takes pleasure in working with numbers:

  • To be responsible for paying all of the Hotel’s expenses in accordance with the established accounting policies and procedures and for controlling and collecting all non-cash revenues generated by the Hotel. 
  • To maintain a minimal balance in the accounts receivable ledger.
  • To take the necessary steps to ensure that all invoices represent charges for products which have been received.
  • To process all invoices through the computerised accounts system in a timely manner.
  • To load payment files and send payments after attaching the required support documentation and acquiring the required authorisation.
  • To reconcile Hotel payment accounts with goods supplier statements.
  • To ensure that all Hotel accounts balance with the general ledger at the conclusion of each accounting period.
  • Raise and send invoices to individuals and companies who have outstanding balances with the Hotel.

Skills & experience 

  • Passion for accounting and the hospitality industry and a genuine desire to advance in a hotel finance department. 
  • Educational background in Finance & Accounting.
  • Previous experience in a hotel accounting environment highly regarded
  • Can do attitude and a learning mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure, priorities tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
