About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen as an Assistant Finance and Business Support Manager for two luxe hotels within the Independent Collection in Sydney. 

  • Operational finance and commercial focus with constant liaison and business support provided to each General Manager and Department Managers.
  • Assist in regular liaison and business support provided to Owners, including attendance at Owners meetings as required.
  • Provide each General Managers, Department Managers and Owners with sound business advice in relation to proposed business activities and break‐even analysis.
  • Continue to improve the overall success of the properties within the hotel/s by policing appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Impose a disciplined financial control environment with an absolute focus on cost control throughout the hotels.
  • Implement and oversee the daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting.
  • Adhere to all internal, owner and corporate reporting requirements on a timely basis.
  • Promote operational efficiency and encourage adherence to prescribed managerial policies such as authority level limits.
  • General Ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, preparations and submission of monthly, half‐yearly and yearly reporting.
  • Implementation and administration of appropriate credit policy and procedures.

Skills & experience 

  • The successful applicant will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline with 2-5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or business analysis roles, preferably in a managerial capacity. These are the desired skills and experience for this role: 
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial statements, identifying trends, and providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards 
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records, reports, and analysis.
  • Experience in effectively communicating financial information to various stakeholders, including executives, department managers, and external partners.
