About the business

EVT, Australia’s premier Entertainment, Leisure and Hospitality group, is searching for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take on the challenging role of IT Service Desk Technician, reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager.

The EVT group operates brands such as Event Cinemas, Greater Union, BCC Cinemas, GU Filmhouse, Moonlight Cinemas, Rydges Hotels & Resorts, QT Hotels & Resorts, Art Series Hotels & Atura Hotels.

About the Role

The IT Service Desk aims to provide outstanding customer focused IT support and service provision to the business. The scope of the role includes EVT Corporate Office and all EVT owned and managed Cinemas.

Some of the key functions of the role include –

  • Providing maintenance of the computer desktop environment across all EVT businesses
  • Supporting PC’s, POS, Printers, Servers and related IT equipment, including end user support, PC/POS maintenance, upgrades and configurations
  • Actively focus on learning and supporting the Cinema core application (Vista)
  • Prioritising incidents effectively, ensuring top priority for customer facing and revenue generating services
  • Working with the other IT teams and vendors to ensure the correct identification of any underlying causes of incidents to prevent further occurrences.
  • Assisting with the production and maintenance of system and services documentation
  • Assisting with provisioning of new computers for both desktop information worker and POS roles including peripherals as required.

The role is office based but will provide flexible working arrangements with an opportunity to work from home a few days per week.

Skills & experience 

The role will suit someone who has studied IT or has experience working in IT Support.

To be considered for this role you’ll need to:

  • Be at ease with handling a lot of detail where required.
  • Enjoy working in a team with many others and be reliable and enthusiastic in your approach to work.
  • Be confident in raising issues that need remediation in a manner that is constructive and considerate of other perspectives.
  • Be a pro-active and responsible self-starter with strong customer focus.
  • Possess good problem resolution, analytical and decision making skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
