About the role

Reporting to our Front Office Manager, our Duty Manager will co-ordinate and oversee the running of the Hotel in the absence of executive management. The role will place a particular emphasis on assisting the Front Office Manager with the operations of Front office, monitoring Hotel security and maximising the profitability of operations. 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Attend to guest requests/requirements in a timely and efficient manner including but not limited to: reservations issues, in-room equipment/maintenance issues and housekeeping issues.
  • Be aware of group and conference VIP arrivals/departures and that all preparations are made for them.
  • Hotel walk around ensuring operating areas are performing and reporting on any issues.
  • Assist with check ins/check outs and other Front Office operational tasks as required.  
  • To have a high profile in the foyer, giving special recognition to regular/VIP guests. 
  • Ability to work rotational shift including overnight shifts and weekends.

Skills & experience 

  • Proven leadership skills with a previous experience in Front Office of 5-star hotels. 
  • A minimum 1-year experience in supervisory/manager role and 3-years’ experience in Front Office. 
  • A full New Zealand driver license is essential.
  • A current General Managers Certificate
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent working knowledge of Opera PMS.
  • A passion for creating memorable guest experiences and ability to think on your feet!
