About the role

We are seeking an event enthusiast ready to embrace a new opportunity as part of a vibrant, experienced team at QT Melbourne. You will be an amazing communicator, pride yourself on versatility and be confident in your abilities, passion for sales, events & customer service. In this versatile role, you will think outside the box, qualify new enquiries, as well as contract and coordinate events with flair befitting of the QT brand.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Qualify new enquires both by phone, in person and by email with outside the box thinking and a solution orientated approach.  
  • Prepare event and accommodation contracts across a range of markets with meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Coordinate and manage final event details, including accounts and follow up for repeat business. 
  • Conduct full hotel site inspections, together with client meet and greet pre event.
  • Communicate effectively, to all markets, the amenities and benefits of the hotel, including hotel developments, food and beverage venues, meetings and event space options.
  • Stay abreast of current event trends and opportunities. 
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with the operations team to bring confirmed events to fruition.   
  • Maintain a favourable working relationship with all other EVT employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment, embracing our company values of possibilities, community and empowerment.

Skills & Experience

  • Past experience in a similar role ideal 
  • Tertiary qualifications in events or hospitality & tourism preferred.
  • Great team player, positive and proactive, strong communication and a can-do attitude.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and excellent administrative skills including attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines whilst staying calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills both written and verbal.
