About the role

The Chef De Partie’s will work closely with QT Newcastle’s Executive and Junior Sous chef on all aspects of creativity to cooking on the front line. 

Some duties include:

  • Prepares and assists cooking and organising kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
  • Assists in food and product ordering by keeping detailed records to minimise waste
  • Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during peak operation hours/days of trade
  • Complies and follows all food preparation and presentation, to ensure quality and restaurant standards are met
  • Complies with the conditions of the food hygiene policies
  • Is flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times if required

Skills & experience 

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • The ability to work under pressure in one of Newcastle’s busiest kitchens.
  • Passion for delivering service excellence.
  • Excellent presentation and exceptional communication skills.
  • Team player with a hands on attitude.
  • Sound knowledge of current food & kitchen trends. 
  • Relevant qualification plus at least two years of relevant work experience OR three years of relevant work experience if no relevant qualification is available
