About QT Newcastle

The Role
QT Newcastle is seeking Experienced Cocktail Bartenders with a passion for driving the highest of standards across multiple outlets. Being the flagship regional hotel for QT Hotels & Resorts, we are looking for fantastic Bartenders to continue & improve on our signature QT service & experiences.
As we are a medium to small hotel consisting of 104 guest rooms and four food and beverage outlets – this role requires individuals who are operationally confident and understand speed, knowledge, attention to detail and accuracy. Reporting to the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for making a large cross-section of beverages in a timely manner, assist or hold a floor section, maintaining operational standards and delivering the QT signature service for each of our guests and to the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire a full knowledge of the hotel’s beverage service policies and procedures.
- Maintain superior levels of beverage service to hotel guests.
- Comply with the hotel’s standards when producing and dispensing beverage products.
- Maintain an acceptable degree of knowledge with regard to beverage product.
- Ensure that all areas are stocked in accordance with established par levels.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
- Anticipate and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately.
- Maintain your self appearance in accordance with the hotel’s grooming standards.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
- Participate in all rostered theoretical and on the job training sessions.
- Comply with all of the hotel’s operational policies and procedures.
- Have a full knowledge of and practice of all of the hotel’s established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
- Adhere to all established cashiering policies and procedures.
- Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
Give assistance to other departments or outlets when required. - Attend all scheduled meetings.
- Perform any other duties as directed by management.
Skills & Experience
- Proven previous experience in a similar role and proven leadership experience.
- Solid knowledge of classic cocktails including recipes.
- Has a focus on growing and developing your own personal skill set.
- Professional and personable, with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.
- You’re pre-equipped with sound decision making and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
- You will hold a current RSA.
- Must have the appropriate legal requirements to work in Australia.
- Outstanding customer service.
