The Role

QT Newcastle is in the market an experienced and highly motivated Duty Manager. 

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will oversee the Front Office operations and continue to develop a high performing team delivering the QT signature service and the most unique experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is a hands on position expecting you to work shifts on the front desk including AM, PM and Night Shifts
  • Anticipating and attending to guest’s needs during peak service periods.
  • Lead & support a service focused team, overseeing all aspects of the day to day operation.
  • Develop a strong team by implementing effective inductions, on-going training, delegation and feedback. 
  • Communicate effectively, with the ability to maintain policies, procedures, and be the ultimate liaison and ambassador for the hotel.
  • Stay on top of systems and procedures, including cash handling, payments and the PMS reservation system.
  • Assisting with FIT and group reservations, 
  • Effectively manage guest feedback and handle complaints.
  • This role will have a huge focus on staff, guest and stakeholder management and planning. 

Skills & Experience

  • A passion for the service and hospitality industry, delivering a high standard of service to all guests.
  • Team player, with an outgoing and happy personality, working with and helping fellow colleagues at all times.  
  • Proactive and positive mindset with a ‘can do’ attitude that is contagious.
  • Working knowledge of a hotel property management system such as Opera Infrasys & Optii.
