About the role – Marketing & Communications Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Marketing & Communications Manager for two luxe hotels within the QT brand and Independent Collection in Wellington and Queenstown (based in Wellington). 

The Marketing & Communications Manager manages and executes the brand & marketing strategy with duties that include: 

  • Work with the Hotel General Managers and Head of Brand & Marketing to develop and execute a hotel marketing strategy per hotel across all owned and third-party channels.
  • Deliver an annual marketing calendar of data-driven campaigns for hotel brands and assess results ongoing to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Support the delivery of the overarching EVT Hotels and Resorts marketing strategy across all owned and third-party channels.
  • Develop a comprehensive and results driven social media strategy per property and execute in line with the overall marketing strategy, including influencer strategies and social media specific campaign initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive EDM calendar in-line with overarching marketing strategy.
  • Lead each property’s local promotion strategies to ensure growth of room and F&B revenue with local packages and F&B offers.
  • Manage data capture and growth of F&B email databases, as well as third-party listings/platforms.
  • Support hotel, F&B and C&E teams with collateral development including website management, compendium, menus, signage and app materials.
  • Manage local media relations and proactively seek positive PR opportunities and media famils, manage enquiries, press kit development and tactical opportunities in alignment with the QT PR & Editorial Calendar.
  • Manage the execution, development and rollout of hotel brand assets and content across both owned and third-party channels in-line with brand standards (collateral, photoshoots, assets).
  • Develop a regular reporting schedule for key Hotel campaign metrics that reports top-level results, meaningful insights and articulates trends & forecasts.
  • Work with the Hotel GM and Head of Brand & Marketing to acquire, foster and review potential hotel partnerships across all areas of the business (accommodation, F&B) and complete ongoing reviews to determine success.
  • Assist with the roll out of member-first acquisition strategies to continue to drive membership at a hotel level and maintain a customer and loyalty first approach to campaigns and customer experience. \

Skills & experience 

The successful applicant will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years’ experience working in brand and marketing. These are the desired skills and experience for this role:

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing marketing and communication campaigns using a variety of channels, working both proactively and reactively.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing and publishing social media content in a range of different brand voices in both copywriting and creative.
  • Outstanding relationship builder, across the business with the ability to partner with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated successful track record in developing and delivering new products and services.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Hootsuite, Isentia and Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Instagram)
  • Track record in business transformation.
  • Creative thinking with high level attention to detail
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders.
