About the role
- Casual Role 20+ hours per week

What it involves
• Anticipate and attend to guests needs, ensuring that you have complete understanding of special requests, dietary requirements and food ingredients for compliance
• Daily temperature checking of all hot holding, fridges & al a carte meals
• Minimizing of wastage through accurate preparation
• Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, by following daily checklist & food program procedures
• Maintain uniform, grooming & hygiene standards at all times
• Communicate & collaborate actively with all team members, working cohesively with other departments to ensure a seamless delivery of food & service.
• Maintain accurate preparation lists to ensure areas are fully stocked for service
• Contribute to order lists to ensure stock is on hand for preparation & service
• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the Food Safety Program and ensure that compliance is maintained at all times.
• Have a deep understanding of food trends, and an open mind to changes in menus
• Report any maintenance issues immediately to your direct manager or manager on duty
• Be an active participant in the Hotel’s drive to be a learning environment by sharing knowledge and skill with other team members, including apprentices.

Skills & experience
- Qualification preferred (pay rate based on training)
- 2+ years working in a fast-paced kitchen team.
- A can-do attitude and an open mind to learn.
- You love food. You love to cook.
- You are a jack of all trades in the kitchen.
- You like working in a busy kitchen environment.
- You are a team player.
- Can do attitude to create a positive and enjoyable working environment.
- Reliable and consistent work ethic.
- Strong personal standards of cooking
