Undergoing a complete transformation, the iconic Rydges Melbourne is reopening in late Autumn 2023 and is on the hunt for a House Person just as sharp as its brand-new look.
This is our flagship in the making; this is Rydges, reimagined. With a complete refurbishment of all 370 rooms, suites and apartments, delectable dining experiences, terrace overlooking Her Majesty’s Theatre, interactive fitness centre and rooftop pool. The new Rydges Melbourne will offer unforgettable hospitality.
Rydges Melbourne will feature eleven Meeting and Event spaces spanning over 1,500 square meters with fully adaptable conferencing equipment, impeccable event catering and cutting edge audio-visual advantages, including a new ballroom equipped with a super-sized LED video wall… Is your mind racing yet?
We’re after a House Person keen to help us execute impeccable cleanliness standards our Housekeepers achieve in our rooms each and every day!

Role & Responsibilities:
- Check pantries for par levels and deliver linen when needed from laundry
- Check pantries are fully stocked with room amenities toilet paper etc.
- Collect Optii device and follow list of tasks, deliver any rollaway beds, cots and room amenities
- Check rollaway beds and cots make sure they are in good working order, report any breakages.
- Make sure if any split beds room attendant has all the appropriate linen and doonas in the pantry
- Deliver to room attendants any stock missing from rooms such as kettles, irons etc.
- Remove used linen from the Gym, replace and restock towels and amenities
- Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
- Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
- Completes all tasks assigned in Optii check list by the supervisors as and when needed.
- Collects any dirty linen trollies from service hallways, bring down to second floor, pack down linen, cover and tie down.
- Collects any rubbish and recycle bins from service hallways, bring down and empty into large bins, via loading dock.
About You:
- Ability to organise tasks and responsibilities, and be able to work unsupervised
- Be physically fit and motivated as lifting and carrying is part of this role
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Complies with all of the Hotel’s standard operational policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Handbook.
- Has a full knowledge of, and practices all of the Hotel’s established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S)
