About the role
The Rydges Hotel Palmerston is now looking for enthusiastic all-rounder chefs to fill the current positions available:
CDP/relief CDP – Hotel
Working with a well-known & respected NT head chef, this role will see you gaining experience across all sections of the kitchen, from bulk prep to Modern Asian fine dining services.
- Rydges Palmerston Hotel /Madame Za Restaurant
- 80-seater Restaurant, conference & large function facilities. Outside pool area with facilities in place for poolside bar/catering use
- Breakfast buffet, Lunch & Evening A’la Carte, Functions work & A ’la Carte meal service, food prep etc
- Assisting with menu & dish design
- Assisting with maintaining standards of hygiene and presentation of kitchen
- Delegation & supervision of kitchen utility staff
- Casual & full-time position packages available.
Commis Chef/CDP – This role involves servicing a small workforce catering contract, managed by the Rydges Palmerston Hotel. Casual role with potential for Salaried position available for the right candidate
- Small catering contract for up to 50 FIFO workers
- Assisting with menu design & rotations
- Maintaining standards of hygiene and presentation of kitchen
- Delegation & supervision of kitchen utility staff
- Potential additional shifts for Functions work & A ’la Carte meal service & food prep at the main Hotel facility

Skills & experience
- Minimum Cert III commercial cookery certificate
- Food Safety Supervisor (Desirable)
- At least 2 years’ experience in either A’la carte or FIFO catering roles.
