Sails Port Macquarie is a 92 room waterfront Resort Hotel overlooking the Marina and Hastings river. The resort includes Port Macquarie’s most picturesque conference and event spaces and the always delicious Boathouse Bar & Restaurant. 

Sails is also part of the EVENT hospitality and Entertainment network which includes brands across Australia such as Rydges, QT, ATURA and Independent Collection hotels as well as EVENT cinemas and Thredbo Alpine Resort to name a few. 

The Role

Having earnt your stripes in our industry you’ll already know how things should run. Each day you’ll front up to lead a team of unique individuals, ensuring each person is; ready to go, knows what to do, is energised, and feels valued. 

All the while you’ll need to take full responsibility of the venues profitability, strategically driving new initiatives to continue to drive growth year on year.

In a nutshell, you will need to

  • Understand how to deliver exemplary guest experience. This incredible venue feels warm and welcoming with a casual tone of engagement. Underpinned by knowledgeable, professional execution.
  • Lead & Coach a diverse team of people.  Ensuring that team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
  • Competency to drive the financial results of the department.  Be sales focused, create and lead the team to execute revenue initiatives. Demonstrate proven results in management of financial controls.
  • Passion for product. Support the extraordinary teams within the business to deliver consistency around all aspects of the venue brand; Including a detailed knowledge of the product and service standards.
  • Establish a healthy working environment for the team – enjoyable, educational, results focused and respectful.
