About the role 

Rydges Sydney Airport is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Night Manager to join our dynamic and professional team.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you’ll have a key role in ensuring the efficiency of operations, safety and security in the Hotel, maintaining guest services, overseeing the end of day procedures and being the first point of contact in the absence of senior managers for the overnight shift.   This role has a focus on the accuracy and maintenance of reporting and accounting procedures by ensuring the Hotel complies with all brand standards, policies and procedures.

Key duties;

  • Implement guided revenue management operations, procedures and best yield practices
  • Challenge and influence hotel to improve service level and operational standards
  • Ability to communicate professionally with guests, colleagues and senior managers
  • Exceptional personal presentations and pride in your workplace
  • Once trained, Fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude and loads of initiative
  • Handle pressure with panache

Skills & experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hotel Front Office department with experience in both front desk and reservations
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
  • Excellent customer relations, problem solving and complaint handling skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
  • Leadership skills that are second to none
  • Working knowledge of Opera and an understanding of point of sales systems such as Infrasys
  • Confidence to analyse the performance of the hotel against the market and our competitors
