About the role
Rydges Sydney Harbour is looking for a hands on casual Commis Chef to take control of and help lead our multifaceted kitchen operations.
Rydges Sydney Harbour is a 176 room hotel located in the heart of the Rocks. The hotel has a Restaurant, Lobby Bar & beautiful rooftop used for private events.
The successful candidate needs to possess the following experience and skills:
- Current HACCP and relevant food safety accreditation
- Excellent personal hygiene and presentation
- Have previous experience and great knowledge in a variety of kitchen operations, including buffet, a la carte, canape functions
- Ability to self-manage, strong leadership and self confidence and ability to work under pressure
- Have a strong work ethic ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of all meal requirements
- Passionate about the quality of foods and services, ensuring high level of consistency
- Effective communication skills
- Have flexible availability to work various shifts across 7 days of the week
