About the role

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team here at Rydges Wellington Airport. Your day-to-day duties will look look like;

  • To be able to identify, analyse and resolve problems that might arise in the line of duty.
  • Organising large functions under the supervision of the management team.
  • Working alongside a passionate and dedicated team, to deliver the best customer experience.
  • To assist in achieving financial targets set for expenditure including labour costs and food costs
  • The ability to be flexible with shifts and sections worked.
  • Organising and running the kitchen in the absence of the Head chef.
  • Capable of organising staff across multiple outlets.
  • Be part of a team that will help you learn and grow.

Skills & experience 

  • A great positive attitude,
  • Be self-motivated and driven,
  • Previous experience in this role is essential,
  • A high attention to detail and dedication to maintaining standards,
  • Extensive knowledge of OHS/HACCP,
  • Outstanding knowledge in a broad culinary styles focusing on quality,
  • The capability to run a busy pastry section, in a busy kitchen.
  • The drive to mentor and grow the next generation of chefs.
  • An understanding of food costs and how to utilise produce to obtain the best result.
  • Sound knowledge of the financial aspects of running a kitchen. is preferred, but not necessary
