About the role

As a Duty Manager/Night Manager of The Victoria Hotel, you will lead and oversee the day to day running of the Front Office department ensuring our guests have exceptional experiences. You will collaborate with all departments, including but not limited to: Senior Management, Reservations, Revenue, Housekeeping, Sales, Maintenance and all Food & Beverage; to execute stunning service to our guests.

The Duties & Responsibilities

  • To represent the face of the hotel to be able to offer an enticing, warm welcome to all guests entering The Victoria Hotel
  • To keep abreast of current Melbourne trends, experiences and product knowledge to create a customized experience for your guests every time
  • Effective organisational communication with other departments.
  • Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, room service and housekeeping activities.
  • To maintain a proactive and positive approach to the role in order to achieve success.
  • Review and manage rosters to ensure adequate staff for the daily operations of daily shifts. 
  • Accurately identify any discrepancy, which exists between revenue and payments.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and maintains a professional demeanor.
  • Possesses strong communication, people management, and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrates effective planning, prioritization, and decision-making abilities.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of COGS and P&L management.
  • Can think creatively, innovate, and execute ideas that align with budgets and customer needs.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of optimizing operations in conferencing, restaurant, and bar settings to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Continuously researches and analyzes competitor trends to stay ahead of the market.
