The Victoria Hotel is an iconic 370 room hotel, located on Little Collins St in the center of Melbourne CBD and we are recruiting for an ambitious Sales Executive to take care of our loyal clients and actively obtain new clients to be able to experience its wonder.

Whether staying for business or leisure, The Victoria Hotel is the obvious choice when looking for contemporary accommodation in Melbourne. Idyllically located next to Melbourne Town Hall, this historic hotel in Melbourne is within close walking distance to the city’s must-see attractions.

The hotel features 3 conference spaces for up to 200 guests, 2 private dining rooms located in Mister Munro Restaurant and Bar and the much loved Vic’s Bar.

About the role:

We’re seeking a Sales Executive to establish The Victoria Hotel in the Melbourne market as the hotel of choice for both corporate accommodation well executed events. 

  • Leverage your existing networks and experience to build corporate and events leads
  • Represent the brand, build long term relationships and networks. To submit tenders, contract rates and conference quotes whilst maintaining database of activities to be able to continually analyse and yield opportunity for the hotel.
  • Coordinate and assist in promoting all events across our dynamic conference and events spaces 
  • Offer support and collaborate with the General Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Food & Beverage Manager.

Position requirements and detail:

  • Prepare customized quotes, issue contracts, and manage payment process for all clients whom have secured business at The Victoria Hotel
  • Actively promote the hotel in corporate forums, attending market and supplier updates
  • Be instrumental in finalising the details of the conference, meeting or event with the client
  • Brief the team and coordinate the operations for client event orders, run sheets and floor plans along with all relevant information to the operational areas and clients.
  • Liaise with the Sales and Marketing Manager regarding all aspects of each event.
  • Daily administration activities including client and internal correspondence, data integrity and reporting.
  • To communicate effectively with all team members and other departments within the Hotel regarding pending events and operational requirements, flagging VIP’s and unique expectations
  • Utilise, update and maintain Ivvy booking system
  • Conduct site inspections including clients and third party suppliers as required for coordination of events.
  • Assist with group accommodation enquiries and bookings.
  • Communicate with Reservations regarding room blocks to manage on behalf of client.
  • Coordinate and assist in preparation of all Hotel special events including, though not limited to: Valentine’s Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day and Melbourne Cup Day in conjunction with Department Managers, Sales & Marketing team and operational staff.

About You

The successful candidate needs to possess the following experience and skills:

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work across operational and sales/admin environments
  • You are enthusiastic, positive, organised and have a great attention to detail
  • Ability to network, develop and optimize client relationships
  • Can work independent and as a team
  • Experience using Ivvy and/or Opera a bonus
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality and events
