EVT announces first hotel management agreement in Asia.

Today, EVT announced a strategic focus on expanding its Hotels & Resorts footprint in international markets. EVT Hotels & Resorts includes well known and award-winning brands such as QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo and Independent Collection by EVT (ICbE).

This strategic move follows a record year for EVT’s Hotels & Resorts division, delivering record average room rates and achieving greater than fair market share in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

To support this expansion goal, EVT has expanded the remit of the Director of Hotels & Resorts, Norman Arundel. Arundel, a seasoned professional in the hospitality industry and recent Accommodation Australia Hall of Fame inductee, will lead the charge in exploring and establishing EVT's hotel presence in key international markets.

Over the past year, EVT conducted comprehensive research to identify key markets for expansion. The initial focus for QT, Rydges and Atura will be on Southeast Asia (SEA). LyLo, EVT's innovative social accommodation brand will concentrate on market expansion into Australia and assess other international markets that attract Gen Z travellers.

Jane Hastings, CEO of EVT commented, "It is the right time to execute our international expansion strategy as we now offer a diverse range of hotel experiences. By owning, developing, and operating hotels, EVT occupies a distinctive position. Coupled with our market leading capabilities, we can customise, innovate, and demonstrate above market results for partners. We are confident in the potential of our hotel brands to make a significant impact in new international markets, whilst recognising there is still potential for growth across ANZ."

In an exciting step, EVT Hotels & Resorts secured its first international hotel management agreement in the heart of one of Asia’s top performing hotel markets, Singapore. On 1 December 2023, EVT commenced operations of Hotel Telegraph one of Singapore’s prime landmark hotels, as part of the ICbE.

Norman Arundel shared his optimism about the opportunities that lie ahead, "We are proud to announce our first management agreement in Singapore – a significant milestone in our expansion strategy and ahead of expectation. Hotel Telegraph's prime location serves as a strong foundation to showcase EVT’s expertise and innovative solutions. We are ready to deliver our world-class experiences and extend the strength of our brands beyond Australia and New Zealand. I am thrilled to be leading this exceptional team and dynamic phase of international expansion for the Group."
