EVT Hotels & Resorts is continuing its international growth strategy with the expansion of Rydges into Bangkok, one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing tourism markets.

Following the successful establishment of QT in Singapore, EVT has signed a hotel management agreement for Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit, a newly constructed 165-room hotel scheduled to open in early 2028.

Located in one of Bangkok’s most established tourism and commercial precincts, the hotel will feature signature food and beverage offerings, leisure facilities, a gym and rooftop pool, designed to meet growing business and leisure demand

The move marks an important milestone for EVT as it builds on its position as a leading Australasian hotel operator to grow its international hospitality platform. Through its owned, managed and third-party management models, EVT delivers tailored solutions designed to create long-term value for asset owners while preserving the individuality of each property.

To support its regional growth ambitions, EVT has strengthened its development capability through senior appointments and expanded regional infrastructure. Overseen by EVT Director of Hotels and Resorts Norman Arundel, the development team is led by newly appointed Chief Development Officer Brett Forer, who is responsible for identifying and driving growth opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region. While on the ground, newly appointed Executive Vice President Asia Harry Thaliwal leads EVT’s Bangkok office as its regional hub, working with Senior Vice President of Development Asia Stella Blythe to drive growth across Asia.

Jane Hastings, EVT CEO commented “Our strategy isn't simply to grow our footprint, it's to introduce brands that offer something genuinely different to guests and owners. We back every EVT brand to win in this region, and standing up our Bangkok office reflects the resourcing and commitment behind that conviction. Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit will be a great hotel, following QT Singapore, with more to come across Southeast Asia. We are also delighted with the calibre of talent that has joined EVT to help deliver this ambition”.

This investment in brands, capability and platforms reflects EVT’s commitment to Hotels growth.
