EVT expand LyLo into the Australian market after successful New Zealand launch, with the first property to open in Brisbane this year

Say hi to LyLo: a game-changing lifestyle budget accommodation experience is coming to Brisbane mid-2024. After successfully opening three LyLo locations in New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch, and Queenstown), the style-led social accommodation brand is headed across the ditch, first stop Queensland.

Focused on providing savvy, cost-conscious travellers a new way to stay, LyLo is design-led with a social mind-set. With a focus on wellbeing, privacy, and community, LyLo is centred around multi-use communal spaces to play, work and rest, ensuring that guests’ travel is the complete social experience.

LyLo is part of EVT’s growing travel portfolio, which covers luxury to budget accommodation experiences. The brand’s success in New Zealand reflects EVT’s expertise across its Entertainment and Travel businesses, setting a new benchmark for lifestyle budget accommodation experiences. To build on this strategic expansion, LyLo has plans to open additional sites, including a flagship development on the Gold Coast and a location in Fremantle, with opening dates to be announced.

LyLo Brisbane: A New Way to Stay

LyLo Brisbane will cater to wide a range of travellers, featuring a mix of signature LyLo private sleeping pods in 6 and 4 pod rooms, including female-only rooms, private ensuite king rooms and family/group rooms (a queen bed, 2 pods and ensuite).

Redefining the pod sleeping experience, LyLo pods focus on both comfort and space, carefully designed to be self-contained and featuring:

  • King single bed for spacious and comfortable rest time
  • Individual lighting, fan, and mirror
  • Multiple power and USB charging ports
  • Fast Wi-Fi
  • Acoustic privacy screens
  • Secure luggage storage locker located adjacent to each pod

To create a sense of community, the property will also feature a superb rooftop hangout space with a shared kitchen, self-pouring beer, wine, and cocktails on tap, as well as a bespoke co-working space with free unlimited Wi-Fi and a wellness area.

Located at 142 Constance Street in the heart of Fortitude Valley, the property is only a 10-minute walk from the Brisbane River and Chinatown. A nod to the local area, the building façade displays an eye- catching, 4 storey First Nations mural celebrating the local flora, fauna, and the Brisbane River.

Managing Director of LyLo, Tim Alpe said, “We have torn up the rulebook and flipped budget accommodation on its head. LyLo Brisbane is meticulously designed based on real insights into what a social traveller needs, mixed with stylish finishes. Our first EVT property in Australia has been designed for travellers to stay in both an epic and affordable way by providing all the perks of communal and social travel with the privacy of their own comfortable sleeping space. We cannot wait to open LyLo Brisbane and are excited for more LyLo sites in Australia over the coming years.”

LyLo Brisbane will open end of April, with forward bookings available now. Pods can be booked individually from as low as $72 per night, with private and family rooms available for travellers seeking a little extra privacy.
