Thredbo boasts biggest ever Summer events calendar – Live music, kids adventure festivals, mountain biking, festive events + more

Thredbo’s summer events line-up is non-stop throughout December and January, set to attract strong visitation to the Snowy Mountains with live music and entertainment, festive events, Kids Adventure Festivals during school holidays, mountain biking, outdoor activities and more.

Australia’s premier year-round adventure destination is preparing to host a huge number of lively summer events throughout December and January, expected to attract a wide variety of visitors to the mountains.

Thredbo General Manager, Stuart Diver said that the summer events calendar is continuing to drive strong visitation and deliver an exceptional customer experience each year.

"With lots of Australian's looking for adventurous domestic destinations, we're expecting the resort to be operating at its best over this holiday period. Our events continue to add another layer to our guests' and the local community's experience in-resort, and I can't wait to feel the lively atmosphere they bring to the mountains again this summer."

Thredbo Gravity Series #1 & #2: December 16
The first two of five rounds of MTB racing for Thredbo Gravity Series will see competitors compete in the Osprey Ricochet Rumble and the Rockshox Pump Track Party on December 16. This fun style of racing is all about racing your mates and having a laugh while still pushing the boundaries in a more regionally geared competition. 

Kids Summer Adventure Festival: December 22 - January 14
Kids are about to take over the mountain these school holidays! With MTB School Holiday Camps, treasure hunts, arts and crafts, alpine bobsled, Mission Inflatable, rock-climbing, circus workshops, movie nights, sports sessions, face painting and lots more, there is something for all ages at Thredbo's Kids Summer Adventure Festival.

Christmas Eve Carols: December 24
Join us at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel on the 24th of December for the free annual Christmas Eve Carols. From 6pm, Thredbo will be filled with the sound of Christmas as the local community turns out for carols and cheer. Keep a lookout for Santa Claus, rumor has it that he might be dropping by to say hi... 

Christmas Day Lunch: December 25
Sleigh bells will be ringing this as we welcome you to celebrate with your loved ones this Christmas Day. To get into the festive spirit, the Thredbo Alpine Hotel has put together a range of Christmas Day Lunch experiences to make your day memorable. Celebrate in style with a mouth-watering lunch and premium beverage package at Cascades Restaurant, or have a family feast in the Kosciuszko Room that’s sure to please kids and parents alike. 

New Years Eve Degustation Dinner: December 31
Executive Chef Paul Starley has been working his magic in the kitchen to put together a five course degustation event for you to enjoy at Cascades Restaurant this New Years Eve. Sit back, relax, take in the sweeping views of the mountains and indulge in a 3hr bottomless beverage package. Following dinner, dust off those dancing shoes for some late night entertainment in the Alpine Bar.

Thredbo Summer Music Series ft. Steve Edmonds Band: December 31
The hills are alive with the sound of music! The Thredbo Music Series is back at Alpine Bar for its first installment of live music and mountain vibes this New Years Eve. Catch legendary guitarist Steve Edmonds and his band rock the stage with their list of classic guitar anthems and a respectful nod to some of the greatest bands and songs of your generation.

New Year's Day Party: January 1
Start the new year with good tunes and great vibes at our New Year's Day Party presented by Balter. Relax in the mountain air at Alpine Bar with your favourite drink and tunes from Steve Edmonds Band. Cheers to the New Year!

Thredbo Summer Music Series ft. Tusk: January 5
The second Thredbo Summer Music Series of the season is set to be a hit with a tribute to everyone's favourite band. Tusk are celebrating half a century of hits from the legendary Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, bringing the big concert experience to you in one incredible afternoon. With an all-star line up and over 10 years of touring Tusk is Australia leading Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks Experience, get ready for all the chart-topping songs including Gypsy, Go Your Own Way, Little Lies, Landslide, Dreams, Don’t Stop, Edge Of Seventeen, Rhiannon and more.

Thredbo Summer Music Series ft. Felipe Baldomir: January 13
The final edition of Thredbo Summer Music Series, catch Felipe in the Alpine Bar for an intimate afternoon set of mountain sounds and coastal tributes as he brings his talents to Thredbo. The Indie-Folk singer and songwriter from Uruguay is a multi-instrumentalist musical architect, who takes his audience on soulful sonic journeys. 

Thredbo Blues Festival: January 19 - 21
The iconic Thredbo Blues Festival is set to descend upon the Snowy Mountains once again. Get set for another amazing program curated to include some of the country’s best blues artists, as well as up and comers to match the familiar faces. Enjoy 3 huge days filled with the best of the blues, good food and wine and awesome times! With intimate bars and restaurants, spectacular outdoor venues and the whole of Thredbo Village given over to the blues, Thredbo sets the stage for an atmosphere that musicians and blues fans love.
